A souvenir from Moscow

Undoubtedly, one of the most extraordinary historical achievements of the Poles was the occupation of the capital of Russia - Moscow. It was on the night of September 20-21, 1610 that the troops of Hetman Stanisław Żółkiewski, coming from the victorious battle of Kłuszyn, entered the city. As a result of this event and plans to place the Polish prince Wladysław IV Vasa on the throne, unique coins were minted in Russia - gold kopecks (so-called teardrops) with the nomenclature of the planned future ruler - Władysław IV.
